Thank you for your interest in Otaki Village and Kurumizawa Ryokan!
Kurumizawa Ryokan has hosted groups of pilgrims to Mt. Ontake since our founding in 1869 and has been in our family for 5 generations. The original building burned down in the 1960s, but the rebuilt inn maintains numerous traditional touches, including large rooms on the upper floor for hosting groups of pilgrims (and the occasional yoga class!).
Rooms feature traditional tatami straw matting. We provide comfortable futons so our guests can enjoy sleeping Japanese style. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the premises.
Meals are traditional Japanese banquet style in our large common room, or in your room at your request. Vegetarian meals (hon-shojin ryori) are available (let us know in advance if you’d like this option).

The inn is located just across from Ontake Satomiya Shrine, so it’s perfect for exploring the Ontake Pilgrimage Trail and its sacred waterfalls.
